Taking the Lead

In order to advocate for new or increased funding to meet community needs, you will first need to articulate the needs in your community (i.e., insufficient childcare) and recruit the right partners to work with you in approaching a funder. Successfully bringing together community advocates requires a focus on the 4 Cs of core leadership:

Credibility – Building a credible case.

Constituency – Bringing together the right partners.

Capacity – Mobilizing the partners around a shared agenda

Commitment – Making a plan for approaching specific funders
