Evan Russell is the HR and Operations Associate at Spark. He manages organizational processes and operations, marketing outreach, communications, provides general support to projects, and just about anything else you can think of to keep the Spark running. He has experience in both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis as well as data entry and other supplementary evaluation activities for a number of Spark projects addressing criminal reform, early childhood development and education, and health advocacy.
Prior to joining Spark, Evan worked with organizations in conducting communication and rebranding plans. He performed data entry and analyzation of data sets and assisted interviews and focus groups to collect necessary data. Additionally, he led an exploratory team in strategically redesigning organizational outreach strategies for a billion-dollar organization.
He holds a Bachelor in Psychology from Brigham Young University where he also minored in Mandarin and Business Management. He spent two years in Taiwan doing volunteer work where he first picked up Chinese and bits of Taiwanese.
Outside of Spark, Evan enjoys time with his wife and two cats hiking (not with the cats), traveling ( also not with the cats), and binge-watching the newest show (their favorite show is ‘Speechless’).
